Thursday, 23 April 2026 Universitas Negeri Jakarta organized an international webinar and digital exhibition that brought together academics, professionals, and students to discuss economic resilience, organizational transformation, and human capital development in Indonesia. At a time when global uncertainty continues to reshape the economic landscape, the event encouraged participants to explore how higher education institutions and industry can build stronger collaboration in preparing for future challenges.
An international webinar and digital exhibition recently brought together academics, professionals, and students to discuss the future of economic resilience, organizational transformation, and human capital development in Indonesia. The event served as valuable platform for participants to exchange ideas on how higher education institutions and industry can collaborate more closely to address global challenges while creating sustainable opportunities for future generations. The atmosphere reflected a strong spirit of collaboration, with participants from different backgrounds sharing insights and experiences that could contribute to broader institutional progress.
During the session, the keynote speaker emphasized that Indonesia, particularly West Java, should not only prepare to face global uncertainty but also take an active role in shaping the future. The discussion highlighted that global economic disruption can become an opportunity when institutions are willing to build stronger networks, encourage innovation, and invest in human development. Participants were reminded that resilience is not only about surviving difficult times but also about building systems that enable communities and organizations to grow stronger through such challenges.

A major focus of the webinar was the importance of strengthening the relationships between universities and professional institutions. Speakers explained that collaboration should move beyond formal agreements and evolve into practical partnerships that create direct impact. Through applied research, knowledge exchange, and internship opportunities, students can gain real experience while institutions benefit from fresh academic perspectives. Such partnership can help bridge the gap between theory and practice, ensuring that education remains relevant to the needs of today’s rapidly changing professional environment.
The webinar also highlighted the role of regional collaboration in supporting national economic growth. Supported by institutions such as Bank Indonesia, several initiatives in West Java were introduced as examples of how academic communities can contribute to economic development. Programs related to community empowerment, research collaboration, and halal industry development demonstrated that universities can play a greater role in supporting both local and national progress. Participants from various universities, including Universitas Negeri Jakarta, were encouraged to become part of this collaborative ecosystem and contribute their ideas toward long-term development.

Another important discussion centered on the challenges organizations face in managing a diverse workforce. In modern institutions, people often work across different teams, cultures, and professional environments, create both opportunities and complexities. Diversity can strengthen creativity and innovation, but it can also create communication barriers when individuals approach problems from different perspective. The session emphasized that organizations must develop a deeper understanding of employee behavior so that differences become a source of strength rather than misunderstanding.
Speakers noted that while personality can help explain individual tendencies, behavior in real situations provides a clearer understanding of how people collaborate. Organizations were encouraged to develop empathy, adaptability, and stronger interpersonal awareness among leaders and employees. These qualities were described as essential for creating a healthy workplace where individuals can contribute meaningfully while remaining aligned with institutional goals. As digital transformation continues to reshape the workplace, these human-centered skills are becoming increasingly important for long-term organizational success.

Participants were encouraged to transform ideas into action and continue building meaningful partnerships that can create a measurable impact for Indonesia’s future. More than a single academic event, the webinar represented the beginning of a broader commitment to cooperation between education and industry. Through stronger collaboration, innovation, and mutual understanding, West Java and Indonesia are expected to move forward with greater confidence in facing future economic and organizational challenges.(MFA/NFA)
